At least Athlon shows Boise State being ranked #4 in the nation AND…going to the Rose Bowl.  I still wouldn’t settle yet I know they will.  There is nothing saying Boise couldn’t win it all in a playoff!

I don’t understand the Athlon book apparently.  Can someone help me here?

Page 142 for Alabama.  It shows Offense (8) and Defense (1).  I thought those numbers meant the number of returning starters.  Apparently not because they are ranking Alabama number 1 and they are “starting over” with a new defense???

I don’t know which is the more evil of the two right now with my emotions running overtime.  A 15 yard penalty for celebrating a touchdown for throwing a football through the goal post after a touchdown…or holding your hand to your helmet like your on a cell phone (Tebow) is NOT real cause for penalizing a team 15 yards.  Football, being the emotional game that it is, should allow all kinds of celebrating for a touchdown.

Come on guys…name some more STUPID 15 yard penalties for “excessive celebrating”!

GREEN BAY  -3  at  Chicago.

BALTIMORE  -13 1/2  vs  Detroit.

DENVER  +7  at  Indianapolis.

PHILADELPHIA  +1  at  N.Y. Giants.

CINCINNATI  +6 1/2  at  Minnesota.

SAN DIEGO  +3  at  Dallas.

ARIZONA  -3 1/2  at  San Francisco.  Warner is absolutely hot.  Fun to watch stuff.

I’ve taken a look at the bowl picture…what do You think about it?

The SEC has Alabama playing an undefeated team with the same record and Georgia is playing a team with one win less than them.  The other 8 SEC teams are all playing teams with better records.  Here’s hoping for a great showing by the SEC this year!

Boise State and TCU looks like a good one!  TCU -7 at this time.

Cincinnati might just take Florida.  Do Not be surprised.

Auburn -7 1/2 over Northwestern is an easy pick.

I’ve said Texas would beat Alabama all along so I’d take Texas +5.

Penn State vs. LSU should be a really good game.  I’m leaning toward Penn State -3 on this one.

A lot of great games still to come.  I just wish there was a playoff.  College divisions II and III are in the middle of their playoffs now.

Tons of football this week…cool!  I feel obligated to give you the Winners before hand and here they are…

First off, it’s has got to be a thrill to be Cincinnati or Boise State and have ALL of us who don’t like the stupid “voting system” (BCS) pulling for your team!  GOooooo Cincinnati and Boise State!!!  We Love Ya!

CINCINNATI  -20  vs  Illinois.  I hope you win by 100!!!

BOISE STATE  -14  vs  Nevada.  I hope you win by 100!!!

ALABAMA  -10  at  Auburn.  What’s this Blasphemy?  An Auburn graduate picking against his own team in the rivalry of all time?  Just my way of jinxing Alabama.  Nothing I’d rather see more than Auburn to WIN this game!

FLORIDA STATE  +24 1/2  at  Florida.  Just looks like Florida is giving too many points in this rivalry. Florida State has won four of their last five and are scoring well enough to stay at least 24 points close.

GEORGIA TECH  -8 1/2  vs Georgia.  Georgia Tech is playing better than anyone in the country.  You can’t tell me they wouldn’t stand their own against Alabama, Florida or Texas.  Too bad their is NOT a playoff system.  Georgia Tech would bode well if there were.  WE WANT PLAYOFFS!

NEW MEXICO  +44  at TCU.  Hey, I’m just trying to win the money here   You can add 44 points to New Mexico in any game they have played and they win them all.  This is an Obvious attempt by the powers that be to make TCU look bad (by TCU not beating the spread…”style points” and such.  I hope the Frogs win by 100!

Speaking of “style points”…style points, come on, give me a break, friggin “style points”…WE WANT PLAYOFFS!!!

TEXAS  -21  vs  Texas A&M.  The powers at work again.  They set a low point spread on this one so that Texas looks even better than they are so they can put them in the top two after the Florida/Alabama game.  Like they wern’t going to do that any way.

Put the top 16 teams in a PLAYOFF and put Every game on pay per view, my kid and yours goes to college for FREE!  Sorry…just thinkin’ out loud for a second there.  College division two and three are starting their playoffs and all the High Schools are starting their PLAYOFFS…

I can only imagine how much more exciting the Pro games would be if they had a couple of Bands at every game! Awww…thinkin’ out loud again.  This is a laugher! Is laugher a word?  Oh well, this is funny…The Cleveland Browns say the Detroit Lions faked injuries.  “Does anybody really know what time it is…Does anybody really care.”  It’s not like we are talking the PLAYOFFS for either of these two teams!

DALLAS  –13 1/2  vs  Oakland.  Forget all the rumors about Dallas not being able to score.

DETROIT  +11  vs  Green Bay.  Green Bay had a team meeting a week ago.  Next scheduled team meeting will be on the plane going home from this game.

This week, the Winners are…

FIU  +  45  at  Florida.  If this was Florida’s last game at home, I’d go the other way.  FSU ahead.

OREGON  -6  at  Arizona.  Come onnn Mighty Ducks.  The BCS is BS let’s Prove It!!!

MICHIGAN  +12  vs  Ohio State.  Last game for both teams.  Michigan has played well enough at times to keep up with Ohio State…this will be one of them.

TCU  -31  at  Wyoming.  Come onnn TCU.  This is gonna be Fun!!!

PENN STATE  -3  at  Michigan State.  Against good competition, Michigan State has not been very competitive this year.  Penn State is good football.

TEXAS  -27  vs  Kansas.  Texas doesn’t mind winning by large scores.  This isn’t too many points to give away.

Now for the Pros.  This weeks Winners are…

DALLAS  -11  vs  Washington.  Just way too much team difference here.  Dallas routes in this rivalry game.

PITTSBURGH  -10  at  Kansas City.  Pittsburgh looks like Pittsburgh in this one.

MINNESOTA  -11  vs  Seattle.  Minnesota destroys Seattle.

CINCINNATI  -9 1/2  at  Oakland.  Cincinnati has lost 8 straight in Oakland.  Oakland has a new QB, Cincy has a “new” team.  Revenge will be sweet for Cincy.

PHILADELPHIA  -3  at  Chicago.  Too many interceptions by Chicago and too much pressure from the Eagles.

HOUSTON  -4 1/2  vs  Tennessee.  Vince Young has won his last seven starts and I believe Tennessee is on a roll.  I just don’t believe Tennessee will get 160+ yards rushing forcing Young to win the game.  It won’t happen.
